In other news, I've actually looked at the first-best scorinator I could find (Xkoranate) to check how customisable it is. Turns out that you need scoring probabilities with each score type, and since Talossan Football not only has 5 regular types of scoring (as well as a special one) but also has never been played in real life before, figuring out how probable each type of score is or how high the expected total score of a normal game would be is pretty difficult.

Any ideas?

Maybe we wouldn't want to use the provinces for teams, necessarily... maybe organizations or individuals could also sponsor teams? Like the Royal College could sponsor the Heralds, or the FDT could sponsor the Democrats? Would that be okay?

Not sure if having political parties sponsoring teams is that good an idea, considering that so much already revolves around politics... And considering how dead the provinces are in general, basing the teams on provinces instead would hopefully help with regional identities.

Hm, the Scorinator idea is really interesting. I wonder if you could implement Talossan Football for one of those...

I think the most complicated aspect of the post-2007 orthography is the Stress Rule. It's never ambiguous about where the stress of a given word is (which is a huge step up from the KR1 system) but its a complex rule nonetheless.

A couple more ideas.

I love the design, but keep in mind that the text on the back still says "qa" instead of "certifia qe", which I can't explain.

Yes. I went to Talossan.com and then to English<->Talossan, and, well, that didn't work, so I used my (old) copy.

The new Översteir is over at oversteir.talossa.com. I've been told some people have trouble accessing the page, but I can't replicate the issues. Let me know if you have similar problems.

I always treated the language from the angle of a linguistics geek, rather than actually learning to speak it very well.  <hangs head in shame>

Well, it's not just you. The grammar that I'm writing (and that I'm still not done with and havent touched in months) is correct and I believe more comprehensive than previous grammars, but too technical for laypeople because I've been approaching this as a linguistics undergrad primarily. We desperately need people who can teach the language to Ladintschen-to-be.

Thought you ought to know the wiki says that's a bad link when I click on it.

Hm... the link works for me just fine. Try searching for "SIGN:Dals Recomendăs sür el Glheþ Talossan" on TalossaWiki, that should send you to the right page.

Thanks I will adjust the penguin text when I get home this evening.   Tomorrow is Squirrel Appreciation Day 21 January so I could also create a graphic for that and appreciate any help with the translation.

It should be "Celebratetz la Ziuă del Reconeiçal dels Péngös" at the very least.

All I ask for is that the Talossan translations get updated, should we ever issue new IDs.
If you want to just slap the new translations in this thread, I'm happy to update the PSDs right now to make sure that gets done.
